AMED – In the final declaration announced after the DBP Party Assembly meeting it is stated: “The democratic solution of the Kurdish issue is the key not only for the Kurdish people but also for a new future in which all the peoples of the region will live in peace.”

The final declaration of the Party Assembly meeting of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) held in Amed on 2-3 August was announced. In the declaration, it was noted that the ways and methods of building "peace and democratic society" and the next century and the role of DBP in this were discussed.

In the declaration, it was stated that imperial interests, inter-state rivalry and nation-state domination in the Middle East have entered a period of sharpening, and that the position of the USA in the region, combined with Israel's policy in Palestine, has created a status quoist and militarist balance that threatens the future of the peoples of the region, and it was stated: "In this equation, the unique role of the Kurdish people and the democratic solution perspective has become more decisive than ever."

In the declaration, it was stressed that the Kurdish-led experience in North and East Syria strengthened not only their own social liberation, but also the common ground of struggle for an equal and free life for all peoples in the region.

The declaration reads: The struggle waged by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) within this framework has turned into a line defending the multi-identity and multi-faith unity of peoples, and has gained global legitimacy with the resistance against DAESH. However, the fact that Rojava’s status is still not recognised, combined with the unresolved Syrian civil war, deepens regional instability. In this context, the crisis of the Syrian Interim Government's inability to govern is not only a political blockage, but also the bankruptcy of the centralist mentality in the eyes of the peoples.

THE PARADIGM OF DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY

At this very point, we are going through a period in which we see the thesis that ‘politics does not forgive emptiness’ coming to life. The Kurdish people’s organisation and democratic society building based on their own self-power on the basis of not leaving emptiness in politics stands out as the most realistic solution model in the region. The foundations of this model have been laid with the paradigm of democratic society developed by Mr Abdullah Ocalan; it has been concretised with the principles of women's leadership, ecological balance and local democracy. This paradigm is not only a Kurdish solution model, but also a call that reflects the will of all Middle Eastern peoples to live free and equal.

The Peace and Democratic Society Process, which started with the call of Mr Öcalan, entered a new phase with the laying down of arms, revealing the sincerity and determination in this matter. Today, there is a strong public will for a peaceful and democratic solution. It is the responsibility of politics to ensure that the commissions established within the parliament are based on a work that confronts the Kurdish issue and prioritises the demands of the people, and that the process is carried out by facing the facts. The struggle of the Kurdish people is not only a rights-based demand, but also means the reconstruction of democratic politics. In this context, it is inevitable for Kurdish politics to be reorganised within the framework of the new paradigm, to establish more contact with the people and to strengthen its leadership role. One of the main pillars of this orientation is education. Political consciousness builds the people's power to determine their own destiny. For this reason, it is a strategic necessity to increase educational activities at all levels, to strengthen the organisation and to bring the peoples together with the leadership.

KURDISH PEOPLE PLAY A LEADING ROLE

In conclusion; the Kurdish people are playing a leading role in the reconstruction of the Middle East with the perspective of peace and democracy. The democratic solution of the Kurdish issue is the key not only for the Kurdish people but also for a new future in which all the peoples of the region will live in peace. This historic responsibility can only be fulfilled by strengthening organisation and democratic politics."
