ISIS attacks on Deir ez-Zor continue

	NEWS CENTER - ISIS attacked a security point in Ziban town of Deir ez-Zor. ISIS attacks have been continuing since 6 May. 

	 

	General Command of Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria stated that ISIS attacked the Internal Security Forces point in Dhiban (Ziban) town of Deir ez-Zor (Dêrazor) Canton yesterday evening.

	 

	In the statement made by the command, “In recent days, ISIS terrorist cells have attempted to destabilize the region through sudden and treacherous terrorist attacks on security positions. However, thanks to the vigilance and readiness of our forces, all such attempts have been foiled. Our forces remain committed to pursuing the remnants of the terrorist organization, dismantling their networks, and ensuring the continued safety and stability of the region.” 

	 

	2 SDF MEMBERS DIED IN THE ATTACKS 

	 

	On 6 May, 2 members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) lost their lives in an ISIS attack to the east of Deir ez-Zor. 

	 

	SDF Press Centre made a written statement on ISIS attacks. It was stated, “In the afternoon hours of today, an ISIS terrorist cell attacked using machine guns one of our military points in the town of Al-Bahra, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez-zor. Clashes ensued between our fighters and the attackers, resulting in the martyrdom of two of our comrades. The members of the terrorist cell fled the scene on motorcycles.”
